We have a wide range of postgraduate opportunities within our broad research themes of Health and Well-being, Environment and People, Culture and Society, Enterprise and Economy, and Sport. We encourage applications that cross disciplinary boundaries to tackle new research questions in innovative ways. Further details, including contact details, on all available research programmes within these themes are given below.

How Will It Fund My Study?

Our University Postgraduate Research Studentships will cover fees and maintenance for successful applicants for 3 years. For specific details, see Terms and conditions.

Other Studentship Funding

A number of our departments also offer studentships funded by UK Research Councils including the ESRC and AHRC, and other sponsors, and have a range of other research programmes available. These include part-time PhD programmes, professional Doctorates, and 1 (Masters) + 3 (PhD) programmes. If you are interested in any of these possibilities you can also find further information using the links to department information.
